Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire Advanced Kearney Concrete to do. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.
When a signed estimate or contract for your job says something different from this page, the signed document controls for that job.
What we do
Advanced Kearney Concrete is a concrete contractor in Kearney, NE, and we also work in Lexington, Holdrege and other cities around them. We pour flatwork, which covers driveways, patios, sidewalks and garage floors. We also build steps, retaining walls, footings, foundations and the other concrete services listed on our home page.
Service descriptions on this site are general. The exact work on your job, the materials and the area we'll pour are what your written estimate says. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
Estimates and pricing
Our estimates are free, done in person and come with no obligation. We price a job after we've seen it, because the size of the area, the thickness of the slab, the condition of the ground, how close the truck can get and any old concrete we have to tear out all change the cost.
An estimate is our price for the work it describes, based on what we can see before we start. Some problems only show up once the old slab is out, like soft or wet subgrade, which is the ground the slab sits on, or buried debris and roots. If we find something that changes the work, we'll stop, show you and agree with you in writing on any change before we go on.
An estimate is good for the time written on it, because material prices change.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We set a pour date once you accept the estimate. Concrete depends on the weather, so we may move a date for rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat, and we'll tell you as soon as we know. A weather delay isn't a breach of these terms by either of us.
You agree to give our crew clear access to the work area on the scheduled day. You also agree to tell us about sprinkler lines, buried wires, septic systems or anything else underground that you know about, so we can work around it.
If you need to cancel or move your date, call us at (308) 371-8187 as early as you can. If we've already ordered material or started work, you'll owe for that as your estimate or contract states.
Payment
Payment terms, including any deposit, are written on your estimate or contract. Unless it says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.
If a balance goes unpaid, we may recover reasonable collection costs and place a lien on the property, as far as Nebraska law allows.
Caring for new concrete
Fresh concrete needs time to cure, which is the slow hardening that gives it its strength. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and when it's safe to drive on.
Foot traffic, vehicles, heavy loads or de-icing salt on the slab before then can damage it for good, and that damage isn't covered by any guarantee we give.
Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover
We stand behind our work, and we want you satisfied with it. Any written guarantee for your job is the one on your estimate or contract, and it covers only what it names.
Concrete can crack even when it's poured right. We cut control joints, which are grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, so cracks usually stay in the joints. Hairline cracks, small color differences between pours and surface wear from salt, freeze and thaw, chemicals or heavy vehicles are normal for concrete and aren't defects.
We don't cover damage caused by ground movement outside the area we prepared, changes to drainage or downspouts after the job, tree roots, misuse or loads heavier than the slab was built for.
Apart from any written guarantee, we make no other promises about our work or this website, express or implied, as far as the law allows. The website is provided as it is, and while we try to keep it accurate, we don't promise it's free of errors.
Limits on our liability
We're licensed and insured. As far as Nebraska law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to what you paid us for that job.
We aren't responsible for indirect losses, like the lost use of a driveway while it cures. We also aren't responsible for damage to buried lines, sprinklers or other items that weren't marked and that you didn't tell us about.
If there's a problem
Call us first. Most problems get settled faster standing on the slab together than any other way, so we'll come out and look.
If we can't settle it between us, we both agree to try mediation with a neutral person before either of us goes to court.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska. Any court case about these terms or our work will be filed in Buffalo County, Nebraska.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you hire us is the one that applies to your job.
If you have a question about these terms, reach us through our Contact page or call (308) 371-8187.
