About our Kearney concrete contractor crew

Concrete driveway with rectangular control joints and mottled gray finish in front of a double garage.

Our story, from the farm to Kearney concrete

I grew up on a family farm, where if something broke you fixed it yourself and you fixed it right the first time. I took that habit onto other people's concrete crews for years, then started Advanced Kearney Concrete here in Kearney in 2021. Now homeowners, farm families and small business owners call us when they want a driveway, patio or slab done once.

What I care about most is the part you can't see once it's poured. That's the subgrade, the dirt and gravel the slab sits on, dug out and packed instead of raked smooth. It's the drainage, so water runs away from your house instead of toward it. And it's the timing, because concrete poured in the midday heat can end up with a weak, dusty top. Get those right and the rest mostly behaves. Concrete doesn't take criticism well once it's set, so we do the arguing before the pour. You can see the work we take on from our home page.

How we handle your concrete job

These are the things you'll notice from the estimate visit to the day the new slab is ready to use. They're how we keep your concrete from turning into a second job a few years from now.

  • The person who quotes it is there for the pour

I come out, measure and write your estimate, then I work alongside our crew when it's poured. Nothing gets lost between what we talked about in your driveway and what goes into the forms.

  • An estimate you can compare line by line

Your written estimate spells out what's included, like the prep, the hauling and the mix we plan to use. That way you can set it next to another quote and see whether someone left the base work out.

  • We'd rather move the date than pour into bad conditions

Concrete only gets one shot at curing right, and curing is the slow hardening that decides how strong it ends up. If the day turns wrong, we'll call you and move the pour instead of living with a weak slab.

  • Straight answers about cracks and care

We cut control joints, shallow grooves that give the slab a place to crack where you won't mind, and we tell you what new concrete does as it settles in. We also explain how to care for it, so the first winter and the first hairline crack don't catch you off guard.

Credentials and the city rules we work under

  • Licensed and insured.

Advanced Kearney Concrete is licensed and insured. If you want to go over it before we start, ask me at the estimate and I'll walk you through it.

  • Kearney contractor registration and permits

The City of Kearney requires building contractors working where its rules apply to register with the city's Building Services office before they start work. Before your job starts, we also check with the city's Development Services Department on what it needs, and we take care of the paperwork when it falls to us or walk you through it when it falls to you.
